Why your skin needs 8 hours of beauty sleep too.
SO here it is ....I think of Sleeping Beauty...Beauty Sleep is Real Important! Indeed! you need to mention: “I need my beauty rest” because beauty sleep is real. It is a fact that quality and yes, lengthy time of sleep that you get every night can be a profounding factor and impact your skin's overall health! Get this! When we sleep our bodies & Skin recharge!
One of the awesome things during sleep is the restoration and elimination of toxins from our skin!
Interesting fact with sleep deprovision of sleep ends up compromising the body's ability to carry out essential skin functions!!
Get This!! While we are sleeping the first 3 hours our body will start producing the growth hormone from the pituitary gland. With aging, this hormone is necessary for the maintenance of youthful and radiant skin. Without this hormone release skin is not repaired from daily damage and thus induces the aging process. WILD if you ask me!!
So during the middle of sleep is when the melatonin is increased. Which I have learned, Melatonin is a hormone that is responsible for regulating your circadian rhythm (sleep/wake patterns) but also acts as an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from damaging free radicals. Pretty cool, huh? The final and last three hours, or during the active REM sleep stage, levels of cortisol decrease. We then learn that the skin’s temperature also drops to its lowest point which then, allows your muscles to relax and become immobile, giving skin its deepest recovery of the night.
Most importantly. Rest.
